birthday week . marceau

My baby boy is going to be FOUR this week! There he was looking so perfect at three weeks old.

first day . marceau

It's been far too long since my last post! Back in March, we moved from our little house of nearly ten years to our dream house with abundance of space in the garden for our babes to run about. It definitely had been an eventful eight months! There had been many obstacles, hard work, tears and quarrels along the way. In the time being, the kiddies and fur babies are growing up quickly and need our attention more than ever. The extra space has allowed us to spend some quality time with each other.

I can't believe the Summer break came and gone but there are still plenty on the list of things we wanted to do. However, we did manage to have plenty of playdates with some great friends, swimming three or four times a week, fun outings, lots of art and crafts and even a little road trip adventure to North of Wales. It certainly had been a fun-filled six weeks for us all; some wonderful memories that we will treasure for a very long time.

Marceau really surprised us with his recent development into a little artist and became more focus. He had been asking ever since the school broke up when he would be back at school. When I suggested in making little gifts for his teachers, he was more than enthusiastic! Here he is with the flowers he made and eager to give them to his favourite teachers on his first day of school 2018-2019. He is such a sweet little soul, has the biggest and kindest heart that I know. He is capable of amazing things and I am proud to be his Mama!

We love you, Marceau! xo

the apple of my eyes

you will always be the apple of our eyes
and have you hidden under the shadows of my wings

sweet dream

Sweet dream 寶寶 ... I can't wait to see you when you wake up.

Happiness is your baby girl holding your finger with her whole hand.

first day

There she was happily sleeping just a few hours after she was born. My husband and I always thought we hit the jackpot, since Milou hardly cried even as a newborn, slept and fed well. I think you remember more of little details when it is you first baby. The moment she stopped crying as soon as she heard me singing will always be a memory I treasure very much. She was only two days old!

five tomorrow!

Five things about my baby girl

1. She is a bookworm. Her favourite at the moment is Why? by Lindsay Camp.
2. She loves broccoli and gai lan but very suspicious of mushroom.
3. She adores her two bunnies and baby brother.
4. She is very good at climbing, drawing and playing the piano.
5. She has the best smile I've ever seen!

Happy Birthday Milou! We love you to the moon and back. xoxo

ho ho ho!

Wishing you a wonderful day with your loved ones!

homemade salted caramel sauce

Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce

½ cup water
1 cup coconut sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 vanilla pod, seeds only
1 teaspoon himalaya/ sea salt

Add the water and sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to boil, swirl the pan to ensure the mixture caramelises evenly.

Turn off the heat and pour in the heavy cream slowly, stirring until it's all combined before adding the vanilla bean and salt.

Pour the caramel sauce into your favourite heat proof jar. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, although it may disappear long before that!

mika is three!

My gorgeous niece, Mika is three!

Happy Birthday cutie pie! We Iove you very much. xo

I know you will always protect each other and it is the greatest gift that Baba and Mama could leave you. When you stand shoulder to shoulder, you can conquer anything!

little rooster

Marlon at three months old

This little darling rooster will be five months old soon. It has definitely been challenging being a mama of three kids and two fur babes. A curious few have asked us why we would want a third child when it is perfect that we had a girl and boy already. Some thought we were mad to have three kids under five. We were even asked how did that happen? The list goes on.

The world would be such a boring place if we all wanted the same thing right?! My husband and I had both wondered recently what our life was like before kids. I think it involved a lot of time watching reality shows on the box, cinemas, more holidays abroad, etc. I would be lying if if I said if I didn't miss the me time, the exotic vacations where we could stay up as late as we like and simply just be spontaneous with what we would do.

There has been many obstacles in having a big family but it also makes our life more interesting, fulfilling and spicy. Over the years, I have learnt to embrace chaos and the absurd, things don't always go the way I want them and spotless house is a myth. However, seeing each one of them learning a new thing, the smile on their faces, caring for their siblings and pets on a daily basis; it is the most rewarding and amazing thing that I would do in this lifetime. No matter how much they drive me crazy sometimes, I still love my weird little family. They are perfect!
