Little P

I was tidying up my photograph folders and came across this particular one that both James and I love very much. Our little Shih Tzu, Princess had been with us just over a month and only weighed  around 1kg when this picture was taken.

We had gone for a nature walk for the afternoon but we ended carrying her most of the journey. She was so little that we were worried she might get injured somehow. Very protective parents! As you can see P was rather happy sitting on James' shoulder.

The little t-shirt was her first outfit with "I love parties" written on it. It doesn't fit her anymore and is more like a midriff for her now. ((*.*)) P has brought a lot of joy to our home and we treasure the time we spend together. She is such a sweetheart, loves giving and receiving cuddles!

Spring is just around the corner!

The day everyone has been waiting for is nearly here! It was just gorgeous with sunshine throughout the day and my Daffodils should blossom in a week or two just in time for the first day of Spring. I was so excited that I had only a t-shirt, short sleeve big knit jumper and jeans on when going into town this afternoon. It was slightly chilly around the arms but I didn't care and had enough of wrapping up like a mummy. 

I wanted to enjoy the most of the sunshine and decided to venture out to the near by farmland. I drove pass the area numerous times and always wanted to take some pictures of it. Today couldn't have been a better day to explore this beautiful place. 

Spring is such a nice time of the year to kick start the New Year resolutions that have been forgotten, clear out the old clothes that you are still hogging on years after years, enjoy some healthy habits like walking or just simply smile more often!

Day out to the zoo

Hope you all had a marvellous weekend. James and I had a lovely day at the London Zoo with the nieces. We were rather nervous that we might loose the kids at some point during the day but there was no need to worry as they were good as gold and great fun to be with all day.


After hours spent there, we ventured out to Camden Town. It was a bit of a novelty for the girls to experience the hustle and bustle around the markets and stalls. 


It was challenging in keeping the kids amused and awake during the car journey home after a long and tiring day. There was loud drum and bass, counting the animals we saw at the zoo and choosing names for their newly adopted plush monkeys. We had to pull every trick from the magic hat. 

save the date

My one and only sister, Qunnie is marrying her sweetheart, Eric on 27 May, 2010. Their save the date card just arrived today and it is just so SWEET! The handkerchief is a vintage find and she screen printed the details herself. I love the little pearl pin, paper insert on the envelope and special save the date stamps. 

a snowy start

We have had a few dumps of snow this Winter. It's not good news for a lot of businesses and it has caused some travel disruptions; but I love it when it snows. There is something magical about snow. I was 16 the first time I saw snow during first Winter in New Zealand. Princess is rather fond of the snow as well, she can never resist dunking her face in the snow whenever she gets a chance! I was house bound for a few days because of a nasty cold and cough. I packed my camera and headed to the Chorleywood Common and Aquadrome as soon as I got better. Here are some shots from the last couple days.

Leading up to Christmas

How did December just creep up like that? Shopping for Christmas has become such a routine, I am hoping to come up with some inexpensive handmade gifts this year. The very first 'handmade' gift I have done so far is some personalised Christmas cards, one of my favourite things leading up to Christmas.  I have used my cat, Sally and her kittens in the past. This year our newest addition - Princess, is my latest model. There was some considerably time spent in getting the homemade studio and Princess ready for the shoot, this is my favourite pose.

Gift ideas for the ladies are all sorted but still struggle for the men as awalys. Would love to get some ideas... anyone?

Regent Street Festival 27.09.09

It was the very first Regent Street Festival that I've been to. I had a great time taking pictures of the adorable kids that just had their faces painted. The look on their face when first caught a glimpse of themselves on the mirror is PRICELESS!

The celebrations went on all day long. There was face paintings, street performers, ferris wheel, carousel, fashion show, roaming musicians and many more.

I can't believe I missed out so much for the last few years, worked so much and took so many things for granted. A little promise for myself to get out more and just enjoy it.

Notting Hill Carnival this year happened whilst I was away, will definitely try to make it next year.

birthday party 20.06.09

Here are some pictures from Ellie's 8th birthday party a couple weeks ago. It was such a good day for the kids running around the garden and just enjoying themselves. I had so much fun taking their pictures as always.



I can't believe Ellie has grown up so much but she can still be cheeky sometimes.

Olivia can be a bit camera shy sometimes. She recently started saying 'NO PICTURE' and covered her face with her hand as soon as she sees you holding up a camera. I feel like a paparazzi! Haha..... very cute indeed. :)

Sabah, Malaysia 2009

We spent one night at Selingan Turtle Island. It was absolutely amazing to see the laying eggs and hatchling process. We were so fortunate to have a chance to give a couple little turtles a helping hand to the sea.

Local fishermen and pupil that I met during a lunch break on the way to Selingan Turtle Island. The sweet little girl in the middle is the second youngest child of the man on the right. He has 3 wives, 18 children and his youngest son is only 3.

Some lovely plants that I saw during the walks at the Kipungit Waterfall in Poring Hot Springs & Nature Reserve and at Sepilok Forest Edge Resort.

We visited the Proboscis Monkey and Orang Utan Sanctuary in Sandakan towards the end of our journey in Malaysia. It was amazing to be able to see all these lovely animals up close. In fact, I nearlly dropped my camera when a male Proboscis Monkey jumped on the hand rail of the platform about a metre away from me.

I definitely recommend the Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary where you get to feed the Silvered Leaf Monkey and watch the Hornbills following the keeper's whistle to collect their food from the platform.

As for the Orange Utan Sanctuary, the feeding platform is quite far away so bring your best binoculars and zoom lens! Try to go there on a weekday as there is most likely to be less children running around which can prevent the Orang Utans from appearing.

It was over 10 years ago when I first climbed Mt Kinabalu and I am very proud that I did it again! James and I took the scenic route via the Mesilau Trail and it was absolutely breathtaking. The first day was quite enjoyable and we just took our time. Then the tough bit was getting up around 1.30am the next day to start climbing up to the summit. Unfortunately I had altitude sickness and thought I would not be able to carry on at some points but we both made it to the top. I can't wait to get a frame to put up our well-earned certificates!

Magunatip, more well-known as “Bamboo Dance”, is considered as one of the most popular dances in Sabah. The name “Magunatip” is derived from the word “apit”, which means “to press between two surfaces.” In the dance, dancers need good timing and agility to put their feet between the clapping bamboo poles, without being trapped. Above is a short footage of James showing how it is done after a short 2 minutes lesson from the experts. :)

sunny afternoon

I set out to search for Poppy field last week but found Rapeseed field instead. It's a pleasant substitute and I had a lot of fun taking the pictures. Oh, I did find one little poppy among the rape plants.
